  32. My A3000 (motherboard 7.3) also had 2 female and a terminal male
  33. connector on the SCSI cable.  Last year I bought a Quantum 540 MB
  34. Maverick hard drive (SCSI 2, I believe).  The Mac dealer that sold me
  35. the drive sent along a standard, 3 female connector ribbon cable.  The
  36. 540 went into the rear drive bay in place of the original Quantum 50 MB
  37. drive.  The original A3000 ribbon cable plugged into the 540.  One end
  38. of the new ribbon cable plugged into the original cable's male
  39. connector.  The other end of the new ribbon cable plugged into the old
  40. 50 MB hard drive, which went into a front drive bay.  There's about a
  41. foot more ribbon cable than I really need, but I don't plan on changing
  42. anything because it works fine.
